Funding & Support Now Open for Green Entrepreneurs in Tanzania

Goodwell Investments, in collaboration with the IYBA-WE4A programme (Investing in Young Businesses in Africa – Women Entrepreneurship for Africa), has launched a regional call for applications aimed at empowering women-led climate businesses in Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, and Mozambique.

What’s On Offer?

This isn’t just about visibility; it’s about real tools for growth:

  1. Access to NYUMBA, a knowledge and technical assistance platform designed just for women in green sectors.
  2. Tailored business support to scale climate impact.
  3. The chance to qualify for low-interest loans or loan guarantees for 35 selected businesses

This is about building resilient, women-powered enterprises that tackle climate, jobs, and justice at the same time.

Who Should Apply?

If you're a woman founder based in Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, or Mozambique, and your business addresses any of the following:

  • Renewable energy or clean cooking
  • Sustainable agriculture or climate-smart food systems
  • Waste management, circular economy, or eco-products
  • Water access, forest protection, or green infrastructure

this program is designed for you.

Your solution doesn’t need to be perfect. But it must be purposeful—and rooted in your community’s needs.

Two Tracks. One Mission.

You can apply to one or both streams:

  1. Financial Assistance Track: Get access to concessional financing via low-interest loans or loan guarantees. Apply here
  2. Technical Assistance Track: Join the NYUMBA platform for mentoring, peer learning, and technical business support. Apply here

Why This Matters

As climate impacts worsen, African women are at the frontlines, farming in drought zones, running households off-grid, and building businesses in resource-stretched areas. Yet, they are underfinanced and under-supported.

This programme flips that script, offering capital and coaching designed with women, for women.

Tanzania’s climate future is being shaped right now, not in conference rooms, but in the hands of entrepreneurs who dare to build differently.

So if you're one of them, or you know one, now is the time to step forward.

Let’s fund the women who are changing the climate—literally.
