What is YALI RLC East Africa?
YALI, launched by former U.S. President Barack Obama, is more than just a leadership program — it’s a movement. The Regional Leadership Center in East Africa, based at Kenyatta University in Nairobi, Kenya, offers immersive training to empower the next generation of change-makers from across 14 countries in the region.
Whether your passion lies in business, civic leadership, or public management, this fully funded opportunity is designed to sharpen your skills, expand your network, and help you lead transformation from the ground up.

Who Can Apply?
You’re eligible if you:
- Are 18 to 35 years old
- Come from one of the 14 East/Central African countries (including Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, DRC, Ethiopia, and more)
- Are proficient in English
- Are passionate about creating positive change in your community
