Available Funding for upto USD250,000 to Scale High-Impact SMEs in Tanzania

Daraja Impact is an innovative program designed to support high-impact SMEs in Tanzania by providing catalytic impact-linked funding and technical assistance to grow their business and scale their impact outcomes to improve economic empowerment for women and/or youth. The program is implemented by SEAF and AlphaMundi Foundation and funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation through the Embassy of Switzerland in Tanzania.

Funding includes impact-linked grants to loans between USD 50,000 and USD 250,000. In addition to capital, selected enterprises will also receive technical assistance support from Daraja Impact and membership in SEAF’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Executive Development (CEED).


Investment Criteria for SMEs

Daraja Impact aims to catalyze additional funding through the mix of grants, loans and technical assistance focused on growth and capital raise. Applicants should pursue Daraja Impact funding in conjunction with other fundraising targets. Businesses that are actively fundraising are encouraged to apply. 

Investment Criteria:

• Country: Tanzania

• Sectors: Open to any sector as long as the company has a focus on women and/or youth

• Revenue: Companies with a minimum annual revenue of USD 300k 

• Years in operation: Companies that have been in operation for at least 2 years

• Impact Focus: Applicants must show a commitment to progressive gender and/or youth impact in their historical activities or forward-looking growth plans as demonstrated by company ownership, workforce, supply chain, and/or customer base.
